De-escalation Tactics (4 - hour virtual or 8 - hour in person training course) This program can be delivered to the audience either virtually or in-person.
Our society is becoming more and more angry each day. There is a high probability that anyone who has daily human-to-human contact will interact with potentially violent individuals who abuse substances, are mentally ill, or are struggling with anger issues. This course explores the causes of escalation and outlines a realistic approach to de-escalating angry and hostile individuals while developing an exit strategy before the contact turns violent. This program will examine effective communication techniques, human behavior, emotional responses to stress, interviewing techniques, pre-attack indicators, crisis intervention, and situational awareness. This course is beneficial for those who work in the Medical Profession, Child Welfare, Social Services, Mental Health, Education, and any other profession having contact with victims, patients, and clients. The methodology for this course requires the use of power point, videos, and student interaction with the instructor in person or virtual.
