This dynamic one day course examines the specific responsibilities of probation and parole officers and explores the true potential for violence. This course uses specific case studies and videos to help you examine the criminal thought process and will teach you to successfully detect pre-attack indicators, read body language and link your mindset to your performance. This course will give you a detailed insight into the potential for violence in the field as well as the office and cover important life-saving information including:

- The importance of verbal and non-verbal communication
- The true violent person and the predator mindset
- Understanding violent encounters and the training you need to win
- Interpreting and responding to pre-attack indicators
- Developing techniques for physical and mental peak performance
- The dangers of home visits
- Less-lethal and deadly force decision making
- Responding to an active shooter event in your office
- Understanding stress and your performance
Who should attend:Any probation or parole officer who controls, supervises and has the authority to incarcerate offenders. Also, any civilian employee within a parole or probation facility who may be present with offenders during office visits.
