Tim retired from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office January 2020 after completing 35 years of service. He graduated from the Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice prior to the Sheriff's Office.  While employed Tim served as a uniformed deputy in Patrol, the Selective Traffic Enforcement Unit focusing on DUI investigations, and the K-9 Unit. After retiring his K-9 partner, Tim transferred to the Investigative Operations Bureau where he served 9 years as a detective in the Property Crimes Unit, the Tactical Apprehension and Control Unit and the Homicide Unit.

Upon being promoted to Sergeant, Tim supervised the Street Crime Unit, Field Training Unit, K-9 Unit and Training Unit. When he was promoted to Lieutenant, Tim was assigned as the commander of a Patrol Division, and the Training Division, which encompassed training all certified members (detention and law enforcement) and Support Staff. Tim was promoted to Captain and served as the division commander for the Court Security Division, a Patrol Division, the Child Protection Investigation Division and Support Services where he managed eight divisions.

During his career, Tim served 18 years on the SWAT Team in various positions including team leadership and command. He was a tactical narcotics instructor for the Multijurisdictional Counterdrug Task Force funded by the National Guard and administered by the St. Petersburg College. Tim served as a tactical instructor for land and marine environments and holds high liability certifications in firearms, defensive tactics and pursuit driving. During his tenure, Tim has trained law enforcement members in emergency response to public disorders, crowd management, active assailant hostile events and supervisory development.

Tim’s expertise in the social services arena has allowed him to be very instrumental in the creation and implementation of the Social Worker Safety training program and Situational Awareness for Social Services and Health Care Professionals training program currently offered through RAD Training Inc. Tim is currently the lead instructor for this training.
